Under the guidance and direction of Collector Korea Smt Chandan Tripathi Madam and CEO-Zila Panchayat, a special initiative “स्वास्थ्य महतारी, स्वास्थ्य लाइका” is being undertaken on *Reducing rate of Low Birth Weight  Babies* of health and nutrition themes under the Aspirational Block Programme. A one-day workshop was organized district and block level for this purpose. A specific action plan is being prepared and implemented for deliveries that will take place in the next three months. Korea Modak Laddu, a locally developed nutritional supplement, has been introduced to combat maternal and child malnutrition.

The Korea Modak Laddu has been specifically formulated to provide pregnant women with essential nutrients, including L-arginine and other vital proteins, to support fetal growth and ensure a healthy pregnancy. By addressing the protein and micronutrient requirements of expectant mothers, this nutritional intervention aims to reduce the risk of low birth weight (LBW) and improve neonatal outcomes.

This Initiative was designed to ensure that expectant mothers received the necessary nutrition to support healthy fetal development. The distribution on of Korea Modak Laddu is managed through SHGs, ensuring community involvement and economic empowerment. Each Modak Laddu is scientifically validated for its nutritional value and impact on maternal health.

Extensive community awareness sessions have been conducted to educate women on maternal nutrition and its role in preening LBW. The initiative has demonstrated significant potential in improving birth outcomes, with data on the total number of pregnant women covered and reductions in LBW cases serving as key indicators of its success.
